First Shorts of the Season!

I thought this picture was so cute I just had to post it! This is Lily sporting her first pair of shorts of the season and really showing off those thighs (all 5 of them). The funniest thing is that the shorts would get caught in the roll between the top of her thigh and her diaper. If you look closely in the picture, you can see a little of what I am talking about.

We had a week of beautiful weather and in 2 days, Lily, Vincent and I all got a little tan. We were outside all day for 3 days! We even had a neighborhood BBQ at my house with 25 of our most awesome neighbors. We had 3 eight foot long picnic tables, a regular table and a kids table all in my back yard. We all brought our own meat to grill and one side to share. Thanks to my Dad and Dierdre we have a grill! It was a blast and we even invited "Willy" our down syndrome neighbor who came and didn't stop talking about it for days.

We are loving the beautiful Utah weather and are taking advantage of every moment to be outside.

Easter...

I couldn't believe it! Josh and I were talking about what we wanted to do for Easter and he said, "Why don't we have an egg hunt for the kids in our neighborhood?" Genius!!!!!

I was totally on board!

So, the next thing you know I was making these cute little invites for the people in our neighborhood. Josh laughed and said, "I thought we were just gonna have a hunt. I didn't know it was going to turn into a production." I then replied, "That is the difference between men and women."

So, 211 eggs later and a lot of cupcakes, we were ready for our hunt.

Saturday, April 11th was day of the hunt and not to my surprise, we had a major turn-out. We have the coolest neighborhood in the world! Not all the kids were in this photo but I think there were between 15 and 20 kids, some of which include my cousins.

We are die-hards! Leave it to me to pick the exact minute for it to start raining just in time for our hunt. We did it anyway and loved it.

Waiting for the sound off... On your mark, get set, GO!!!!!

Lily didn't look so good. Poor thing wound up sick with a fever that night with a 103 fever to be exact. Poor Josh had to go to Walgreen's at 3am. to get more Tylenol.

Awe Katie Bell. This is my second cousin who is so cute. When she found her first egg, she started screaming and shouting "I found an egg!" She wanted to run and show everyone and we said "Go get more before they are gone!" It was adorable.

Caitlyn...

HMMMM.... Where could they be?

Thomas...

Second cousin Victoria. Did very well on her first egg hunt:)

Yummy! Cupcakes with gumball. For a person who sucks at baking, these cupcakes turn out quite well.

Silly boy, you eat it, not sniff it:)

Maggie was going to town on these cupcakes.

All in all, the neighbors loved it and praised us on our holiday spirit. They were very appreciative and it was a joy and a pleasure to put a smile on everyone's faces. I think we will do it again next year!

Later That Night...

No Easter would be complete without coloring eggs!
Lily had the most fun with the eggs!

Of course, she tried really hard to eat them:)

Vincent thought "To heck with the egg dippers!"

He was very impressed with his blue fingers.

The Easter bunny brought many fun goodies for the kids. Vincent got flip flops, transformer, paddle ball and candy.

Lily got a bib and a squeaky toy.
That Easter bunny sure hides eggs in tricky places!

After the Easter egg hunt, we went to church, came home, and had dinner. We asked Vincent why we celebrate Easter and he was able to tell us about Christ and the resurrection. We were very impressed. I am glad to know that he is learning and taking things away from Church.
Later that evening, we made Easter crafts that were given to us by our neighbors. It was a lot of fun:)

Look Out World... Lily is Crawling!

Lily first crawled (Tues) March 17th. She is 9 months and 21 pounds in this picture.

My little Lily is growing up!

She is soooo the opposite of Vincent. Vinny would sit exactly where you put him and wouldn't budge an inch because he had to analyze everything around him. I never had to baby-proof the house; heck, I even tried to SHOW him the pots and pans and would look at me like I was crazy!

Lily, however, has to eat, touch and hit everything! In fact, SHE NEVER STOPS MOVING! I feel like I can't do anything because I have to keep, my eyes on her every second. One good things is she can entertain herself which Vincent still cannot do. I love her to pieces because she just looks right up at me and smiles every time. Who would have thought that she would have turned out to be a very happy baby?

This is cute vieo of Lily bouncing and having a good time. (However, if you don't like to look at a lot of videos, save your time for the one of her wanting Vincent's sucker down below.)

This is Lily outside, eating mud, and loving it! It doesn't matter how many toys I put outside, she always manages to find the biggest clump of dirt and eat it. Boy does she get mad when I take it out of her mouth.

This is a much lovelier and cleaner Lily.

Lily loves Elmo but... what child doesn't? Elmo's head moves side to side on this toy and it is really funny to watch Lily get excited and sway side to side like Elmo.
Lily now has 4 teeth on the top and 2 on the bottom with the third one breaking through on the right. Don't stick your finger in her mouth if you ever want to use them again! No, seriously!

I just love this picture. Lily is wearing a dress my mom gave her and I just think she looks so pretty (minus the snot coming from her nose).

Another funny thing about Lillian is that she is a HOG! She will eat anything that she can put in her mouth. There hasn't been a single food that I have given her that she HASN'T liked. Some of those foods include beats, lemon, pickles, hummus, Arabic pickles etc. One of her favorite foods are macaroni noodles in tomato sauce and grilled cheese sandwhich.

Now that Lily is crawling, the minute she spots Vincent eating at the table, she will crawl over, sit right under him and wait for him to drop something on the ground like a dog. Lily also insists on eating dinner with the family! Each night we put her in her high chair, pull her up to the table and she starts slapping her tray and grunting louder than you have ever heard before. I can't shove the food in her mouth fast enough not to mention that it has to be the food on our plate and not from the "jar". It is quite entertaining!

This is a small example of what I am talking about. Vincent had a sucker in his hand and she was eyeing it intently. She then started grunting at him as if she were trying to say "Hello?!? Give me your sucker!" YOU MUST, MUST, MUST, SEE THIS!!!!!

Here is Lily in all her fatness! She gives true meaning to the saying, "What I eat goes to straight to my thighs". She currently weighs 21 pounds and 12 ounces (04/14/09). My left arm can't take it any longer.

Lily's "Boobs" :)

Lily's chunky thighs. Vincent says all the time... "Oh mom don't you just love Lily's fat? I feel like I want to eat it." I love to compare the size of her arm to her thigh.

Lily also loves the water. One of her favorite times of the day is taking a bath with her brother. The minute I undress her it's like she knows she is going to the bath and that makes her very excited.

This is video of her and Vincent having a ball in the bath:)

Well, I guess that about does it on an update with Lily.

We love you Lily! Although you gave us a scare in the first four months (I now wonder if you were testing our sense of humor), you are a joy and a blessing to us all. I can't wait to see who and what you will become. I couldn't wish for a better addition to our family:)

Vincent Turned 5!

Vincent had a "Sponge Bob" birthday party Wed. March 18th from 4 to 6 pm. at the Classic Skating rink. It was so fun! Here are some of the highlights...

Many friends and family came just for the special occasion...

Jausy flew in during her spring break and spent the week with us; Grandma Robin came too.

Jausy and my neighbor Mechelle having a dandy time...

Lily was having fun playing "stroller time" with her second cousin Haven.

Look at that face!

My mom, with my two cousin's Chalyse and Brandalee; their husbands were there too. Other people who came were my neighbors Dawn, Kevin, and their Boys, Asher and Mekhi. Other neighbors Cory, and his boys Thomas and Eric.

Cup cake time!

This is Eric and Vincent enjoying Sponge Bob cup cakes.

Vincent's second cousin Lucy whom I think enjoyed the cupcakes the most! Look how cute she is and who would know that she is a terror to her parents. They call her "Lucyfer".

Vincent received many presents he was very excited about. Some of them include games, Bakugans, a basket ball, trucks, books and even money!

Thank you to everyone who came. We had an excellent time.

As for me, I was glad when it was over! What a crazy day!

A Little Present For Daddy!

I had just finished feeding Lily green beans and milk, after which Josh picked her up, looked at her and smiled....Then, she barfed on him.

Josh was laughing and screaming all at the same time, "Hurry, get it off. It's still warm!"

Well, of course, I had to make him wait so I could get the camera...

Nice one Lily! I know...daddy makes me want to throw up sometimes too!:)

Love you Josh :)
